RANDY JACKSON THINKS THAT ELLEN DeGENERES BRINGS THE PEOPLE'S VOICE TO THE SHOW

“I think we reached out a little bit,” American Idol judge Randy Jackson told PEOPLE Thursday. “We’re all friends with Ellen, and Ryan [Seacrest] and I are pretty close with her. She’s just mad cool."

Jackson opined that he thinks that DeGeneres will be good for Idol. “There’s so much music industry insider talk with me and Simon [Cowell] and Kara [DioGuardi] that I didn’t think we needed any more of that,” he told People. “Ellen hit it right on the head — I think she could be the voice of the people. It’s like somebody in the home audience watching and going, ‘What would I say [about this contestant]?’ Ellen’s going to be saying it for [them].”

But Jackson also lamented that Paula Abdul will no longer sitting at the Idol juding table. "She’s our dear friend,” he explained. "“Paula started this whole battle with us many seasons ago, before we all knew the show could be hot, and we love her and miss her. We were doing the auditions and I was looking across the table and it was like, ‘Where’s Paula? What’s going on?’ But you know, things happen, life is full of change sometimes. You know, I’m still sad about that."

SOUTHERN MOVEMENT SENT HOME ON RANDY JACKSON PRESENTS: AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW

The list of competitors remaining in dance competition for the $100,000 grand prize and title of America’s Best Dance Crew was narrowed to six this week. The flag of Southern Movement fell – despite giving a brilliant performance in the final dance-off.

Host Mario Lopez quickly announced that two crews that had been voted safe were AfroBorike and We Are Heroes – leaving five crews still at risk of being sent home. And he announced that the week’s challenge would be martial arts.

First performing was AfroBorike who brought the Brazilian flavor of martial arts style capoira to “I Know You Want Me.” Shane Sparks said, “The routine was boring, choreography was weak and there was no energy.” Lil Mama said, “I believe that you have to bring it.” And JC added, “It was not a spectacular routine.”

We Are Heroes then performed to “Starstruck.” Lil Mama thought, “You are not afraid to take risks, and you bring a very intriguing part to the show.” JC opined, “I thought that it started a little slow, but it did pick up. Coolest thing was over and under. Great stunt work.” And Shane added, “I agree with JC. It did start slow, but you executed tasks well.”

Following the two initial performances, Lopez announced that Vogue Evolution would move on – and Rhythm City would be in the bottom two crews.

Vogue Evolution, assigned a Kung Fu style of martial arts, performed to “Work.” JC Chasez said, “That performance woke me up. The choreography was fun.” Shane Sparks said, “I did not like it at all.” And Lil Mama said, “I agree with JC. You didn’t give us difficult choreography, but you did give us visuals, images. And I appreciate that.”

One crew moving on, said Lopez, -- was Massive Monkees. Then he announced that an additional crew that was safe was Beat Ya Feet Kings. That meant that Southern Movement would be the second of crews in the bottom two.

Massive Monkees next hit the stage with an energetic, extreme martial arts routine to “Bounce.” Shane Sparks offered, “It was a very exciting routine, but I thought you took the easy road.” JC Chasez said, “I saw a nice combat kind of thing. But you didn’t quite do the task.” Lil Mama finished the assessments with, “Your performance was action packed. I enjoyed it.”

Beat Ya Feet Kings got a tae kwan do challenge -- which was all about the feet. They performed to “Chillin.” Lil Mama opined, “It was a smooth pace. I love the fact that you tried some fun elements.” Shane Sparks offered, “I need to get excited about something creative – so I have to push you all. Step it up.” And JC Chasez said, “That routine was like running a marathon.”

Then it was time for the back-to-back dance-off between Southern Movement and Rhythm City -- to determine which crew would remain and which would be heading home.

Rhythm City danced buay thai moves to “LaLaLa” -- while Southern Movement took on an assignment of kali to “Ugly.”

Shane Sparks said of Rhythm City, “Give it up ladies and gentlemen. You are so ridiculous. You came up tonight, and put yourself back on the map.”

JC Chasez said of Southern Movement, “We just saw the two best performances of the night. You got dealt the hardest task. Passing sticks is hard.”

Lil Mama ended with, “I come from real street battles. That was a battle. It was like you both had a point to prove. We have to choose between you – it’s tough.”

In the final moments of the show, Lopez reminded that the judges felt that both crews at risk had given the best routines of the night – but one still had to be sent home. Then he announced that the crew moving on would be Rhythm City.

And Southern Movement walked off as their flag fell.

FORMER IDOL FINALIST PHIL STACEY DISCUSSES HIS NEW ALBUM -- AND AN UNEXPECTED MEETING WITH IDOL JUDGE RANDY JACKSON

Phil Stacey appeared a little bit country and maybe even a little bit rock 'n roll on American Idol, but with his new album he is showing who Phil Stacey actually is and being true to himself.

The new album, Into the Light, is being released on Sony's Christian label on August 25, 2009.

"Even on my country record, every song was based on a Bible verse, to me," Stacey told kypost.com. "People who knew Christian music would say, 'How could you put a John Waller song on a country CD," Stacey said, referring to a modern Christian worship leader and songwriter.

But Stacey has made a recent move "from Disney's county label to Sony's Christian label." It is the same label as Christian music star Michael W. Smith. Stacey and Smith also share a manager -- and on Stacey recorded his new album with Christian music's legendary Brown Bannister who has worked with Smith and Amy Grant.

CLICK HERE TO WATCH PHIL DISCUSSING AN UNEXPECTED MEETING WITH AMERICAN IDOL JUDGE RANDY JACKSON (scroll down to find the video)

"It was intimidating going into the studio with someone who has worked which such gifted people," Stacey told kypost. " But at the end of the day, he started out as a youth pastor, and he has a minister's heart, which set my nerves at east. We talked about the Bible and verses behind songs, and prayed before tracking. I admire Brown more as a person than for his musical background."

And this fall Stacey will be touring with Smith. "He has been so encouraging," Stacey revealed in his interview. "He'd send me texts like, 'Phil, I really like this record,' which meant the world to me."

Since his stint on American Idol, Stacey has not been able to get to Kentucky much. "Most of my family lives in Richmond," Stacey said. "My family has three or four farms out there, so I do consider Richmond home. I'm a diehard UK fan."
He did, though, sing at a rally at Man O' War Church of God which his uncle is the pastor. Stacey, by the way, is the son of a pastor, grandson of two pastors and was once a music minister himself!

On myspace, Stacey reveals, "I enjoy talking about the music, too. In fact, I love it. But the biggest hope I have is that what I do will help draw people to God -- whether that's through the songs I write, how I conduct myself on stage, or more importantly, the ways I relate to other people. Everything I did with American Idol has readied me for this platform and this album. This is where I feel at home and I can't wait for people to hear these songs."

Stacey also revealed that he had just learned that "my new song will be featured on WOW Hits 2010!!! Whoohoo!" Wow is an annual compilation album which each year features top contemporary Christian music.

IDOL EXECS AND PAULA TALKING -- PERHAPS PAUL WILL BE BACK ON IDOL AFTER ALL

Apparently American Idol executives and Paula Abdul are back in talks again about her possible return to the Idol judging panel.

“The people at the very top of ABC were really vocal about getting her (Paula) on board for ‘Dancing (With The Stars),” msnbc quoted a source familiar with talks between the network execs and the Idol former judge. “By not exactly keeping it secret, it made Paula’s value more apparent to Fox.”

The negotiations between Idol execs and Paula are called “talks” by msnbc – “since dubbing them ‘negotiations' suggests that one side is budging.

“Paula isn’t lowering her price in any meaningful way. She wants a Seacrest-level deal,” msnbc quotes the source. American Idol host Ryan Seacrest reportedly inked a three-year, $45 million deal.

“If there is a scenario that gets Abdul back on the show, it’s likely that her return would be limited to the live shows only, according to several people who are close to the talks. This will allow the original offer made by the show to stand, but Abdul would have a shorter time commitment,” offers the msnbc article.

ABC was extremely disappointed that they were unable to nap Paula. “They didn’t really want Tom DeLay as their most-buzzed-about contestant,” a source told msnbc.

Throughout the summer Abdul has always expressed that she wanted to return to the American Idol judging panel – and there has been chatter that her friend and fellow judge Simon Cowell has been supporting her behind the scenes. Judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi have apparently been supportive as well.

So with talks resumed and a real possibility that she might be back on Idol, it is no wonder that Paula sounds so happy in her Twitter messages.

One of Paula’s recent Tweets reads, “thx for all the support. Never give up on your dreams. Fight for what you believe in. And never stop believing in yourself. xxP”

Another reads, “The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.”

It seems that Paula may be thinking very positively these days!

ARTISTRY IN MOTION ELIMINATED ON RANDY JACKSON PRESENTS AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW

Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew rocked to the music of Beyonce on the series’ second episode on Sunday night, eight crews questing for the show’s dancing crown and$100,000 grand prize.

Host Mario Lopez opened the show with the announcement of two teams voted safe by fans and moving on to another week -- We Are Heroes and Rhythm City.

Beyonce assigned each of the crews their “unique task” based on her music.

First up in the Beyonce challenge were We Are Heroes – assigned a grind section of hit Single Ladies. Shane Sparks said, “You murdered it. You all killed it from beginning to end.” Lil Mama opined, “One of the favorite parts was when you created a heart.” And JC Chasez added, “We saw a lot of different styles in one performance – overall I did like the performance.”

Second was Rhythm City from the Bronx who Beyonce assigned the Charleston performed to Sweet Dreams. Lil Mama led off with, “I liked how you started out the performance, and you ended the same way. It was okay; it was clean.” JC Chasez opined, “You guys have to respect your history, learn from it and take it to the next level.” And Shane Sparks complimented, “This was the most creative piece I’ve seen in a while. I saw creativity, a little theatrical -- I loved that.”

Lopez then named two more crews voted safe by fans -- Massive Monkeys and Beat Ya Feet Kings.

Beyonce provided a very creative assignment to Massive Monkeys – using hula-hoops to Work It Out. JC Chasez enthused, “JD jumps over four hula hoops. That’s bananas. Stunts were great. Good job.” Shane Sparks said, “With those hula-hoops I was like, what’s going on there? Next time let’s get rid of the hula hoops.” Lil Mama said, “I think this group is very entertaining. I was excited.”

Beat Ya Feet Kings, in the bottom three last week, performed to Crazy In Love. Shane Sparks said, “It wasn’t my favorite piece, but what you came up with was very nice.” JC Chasez added, “I think you’ve gotta get loose, but not get sloppy. It was nice to see your sportsmanship up there.” Lil Mama, “Your personality was on point from end to end. Beyonce. Beyonce.”

Of the four crews still waiting to hear who would move on, Lopez said announced that two crews coming back next week would be Southern Movement and Vogue Evolution. That meant, said Lopez, “Artistry In Motion vs AfroBorike– for one of you, it is your last week on the show.”

Southern Movement provided a country feel to “Jumpin Jumpin” – their assignment being bounce, shake, twist and dip. Lil Mama said, “I like how you kept the female feminine. You all could have brought it. It was okay.” Shane Sparks opined, “The beginning was so sharp. You keep blowing my mind. I loved it.” JC Chasez added, “You came out really clean. I don’t know if the difficulty level was there so turn up the difficulty a little bit.”

Vogue Evolution was asked to go to the roots of dance with Déjà vu. JC Chasez expressed, “You guys just woke me up. There are so many things that I liked about the performance. You used the whole stage. You connected with the audience.” Lil Mama said, “You all brought the energy that the show needed tonight.” And Shane Sparks added, “Naomi, every day someone is saying your name. They love you. Now I see why. You ripped the stage tonight.”

“AfroBorike and Artistry In Motion, only one of you can survive,” reminded Lopez.

Both crews performed back-to-back. Artistry In Motion, up first, strutted their stuff to Diva. And AfroBorike followed with a routine working belly dancing into Beautiful Liar.

Lil Mama said, “Artistry In Motion had the toughest challenge tonight. That chain was amazing."

Shane Sparks said of AfroBorike, “What I like is that you bring something different and yet intertwined it with what is happening today.”

And JC Chasez concluded, “I think this is two good crews going head-to-head. Artistry In Motion, I liked the story line. There’s only 45 seconds, and you did kind of hold back a bit. AfroBorike, I see chemistry and a real sexuality. It was fun to watch -- again two great crews battling it out.”

In winner take all showdown, host Mario Lopez – after a lengthy pause to ponder who would survive an who would go home – announced that the evening’s survivor was AfroBorike.

Artistry In Motion was eliminated from the competition, and the crew’s banner fell.

Seven crews move on to another round next week.

VICTORIA BECKHAM NOT IN TALKS TO JOIN IDOL FULL-TIME SAYS HER REP

"She is not in talks to join the show permanently," Victoria Beckham representative Cheryl Maisel told E!News.

When Beckham joined judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for auditions in Boston, speculation heightened that Beckham might be a replacement for Paula Abdul. Cowell, by the way, was the person who contacted Beckham to ask her to guest judge.

Instead, though, Maisel revealed to E!News that Beckham is focusing on efforts aimed at the upcoming Fashion Week.

But while a replacement for Paula is constantly speculated upon, it seems that fans are more interested in where Paula will go than who will replace her.

There are rumors that she will join ABC -- to be a celebrity dancer on Dancing With the Stars, make a guest appearance on Ugly Betty and possibly have a show of her own too. The show will announce its celebrity dancers for the new season on Monday, and the network said that one contender will be on hand for an interview. The question has been asked -- might that mystery contender be Paula?

But So You Think You Can Dance wants her. And Idol Australia wants her too!

Where Paula will end up, so far nobody seems to know! There is lots of speculation, but so far no real answers!

SIMON IS SUPPORTIVE OF PAULA "BEHIND THE SCENES" -- RANDY AND KARA AS WELL

Paula Abdul reportedly has been offered a chance to judge on Idol, but it is Idol in Australia, not Idol in the USA, according to newsday.

The Australian Idols show has “put a request to strike a deal with her in writing,” according to Radaronline. The Australian version of the show should feel like home to Abdul because it is similar to the American version – has four judges and follows an almost identical format.

But rumors are also circulating that there is at least a glimmer of possibility that Paula might return to American Idol! Fellow judge Simon Cowell is reportedly supporting her "behind the scenes."

“Don’t count out a return to ‘American Idol’ for Paula,” a source is quoted on Radaronline. “Sure there are bad feelings, but a last-second return is not out of the question.” That source revealed that Idol judge Simon Cowell has been very supportive of Paula “behind the scenes” – that fellow judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi are also supportive. And, of course, host Ryan Seacrest has said that he wants Paula back on Idol too.

Abdul, of course, has been described as disappointed that she was earning considerably less money than her male counterparts, felt that some show connections failed to do enough to defend her against rumors that she feels cost her endorsement deals – and felt that the addition of DioGuardi to the judging panel was a message from producers that she could be replaced.

The Idol show offered Abdul $5 million, half of what she wanted and far less than earning of both host Ryan Seacrest and judge Simon Cowell.

But perhaps with a return to contract negotiations, the hurt feelings can be mended and a deal agreed upon.

And while American Idol winners and contestants have overwhelmingly expressed disappointment and sadness that Abdul may not return to Idol, first season winner Kelly Clarkson feels that the situation is actually all about “drama,” reports MTV.

Clarkson, appearing on Morning Mashup Show, opined, “I totally think they’re doing that for drama. I know those producers – they’re doing that for drama. She’s totally probably going to come back.”

Meanwhile, there is no lack of interest in Paula from other possible suitors. And if the offers are good enough, what would it cost Idol executives to bring her back?

There have been rumors that Abdul has been offered a guest spot on “Ugly Betty” – as a temp at Mode who becomes friendly with Amanda. And it is a fact that execs for both “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing For the Stars” have said that they would love for Paula to join their shows.

RANDY JACKSON PARTIES AT ANNUAL PLAYBOY "MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM" EVENT

American Idol's Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson were among stars who partied with "lingerie-clad" models at the Playboy Mansion on Saturday night.

The annual "Midsummer Night's Dream" party, Hefner's biggest event of the year, was held at the 83-year-old Hef's Hombly Hills home. Men were expected to wear their finest pajamas, while the ladies were to don their skimpiest lingerie.

While the Idol trio's pj's were not described, it was reported that basketball star Shaquille O'Neal wore a pair of Superman boxers and a plain white t-shirt.

A total of 800 guests attended the party -- with the mansion said to be decorated in a Greco-Roman style with ostrich feather fans, painted murals and sequins.

Among guests besides Seacrest, Cowell and Jackson -- were Jon Voight, Jack Osbourne, James Van Der Beek, Shannon Elizabeth, Justin Chatwin, Bridget Marquardt, Shane West, Crispin Glover, Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Brett Ratner, Ty Pennington, Bill Maher, Garry Marshall, Pauly Shore, Brody Jenner and David Cassidy.

Performances were given by Three 6 Mafia and Sean Kingston.

AMERICAN IDOL JUDGE SIMON COWELL EXPECTED TO REMAIN ON THE SHOW FOR ANOTHER THREE YEARS

American Idol judge Simon Cowell is expected to remain on Idol for at least another three seasons, according to SKX chairman and CEO Robert Sillerman.

Sillerman, in a quarterly and six-month earnings report conference call indicated that Cowell is finalizing a deal with Fox that will keep him on American Idol for another three years.

Cowell has for months implied that he was tired of continuous travel between Britain and the US – and might actually cut back on his U.S. schedule and instead concentrate more on his work in Britain.

“We’ve heard from Fox, who has asked us for approval for Simon Cowell to appear for three more years on Idol,” Sillerman explained. “They, in their negotiations with Cowell, have asked us to pre-approve him not only for ‘American Idol’ 09, which has begun taping, but they have also asked us for approval for ’10 and ’11, indicating to us that they’re finishing their negotiations with Cowell. We did grant approval for that, quite obviously.”

No financial details regarding Cowell’s contract negotiations were revealed, but rumors are that Cowell may garner something in the neighborhood of $45 million under a new deal – an increase over the reported $36 million under his current contract.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest recently inked a three-year, $45 million deal for a return to Idol and other projects. Judge DioGuardi also has signed to return to Idol. And judge Randy Jackson is under contract through the coming season. But the show’s connections and judge Paula Abdul apparently suspended contract negotiations when they failed to reach a meeting of the minds on her salary. Both Fox and Abdul have indicated that she will not return to the American Idol show.

DAWG, PAULA IS MISSED AT IDOL AUDITIONS

American Idol judge Randy Jackson, at American Idol auditions in Denver, spoke of the adsence of Paula at the auditions -- saying, "We all love her. I think I may cry today. It's weird."

Judge Simon Cowell, always bluntly speaking his mind, said that he too missed Paula.

"I'm going to miss her," Cowell lamented. "She's my buddy." But Cowell said that he has spoken with Paula every day since it was announced that she would leave the show -- and he is certain that she will be okay.

Cowell did say that Paula has been handling the entire situation of her departure from Idol well. While she has made it abundantly clear that she really wanted to remain on American Idol, she also said that she could not stay if Idol executives were not willing to treat her fairly. And, since contract negotiations seemingly fallen apart, apparently Paula feels that Idol execs indeed being unfair.

"Paula has been very cool about the whole thing," said Cowell. "And let me tell you, Paula is going to be fine."

The final regular judge, Kara DioGuardi, said that she was wearing black -- in mourning. I'm very sad. She's sad, but it was her choice."

Somehow it seems that everyone is sad -- except for CKX and its wholly owned subsidiary 19 Entertainment that have been out spending their money elsewhere, this weekend buying controlling interest in a UK-modeling agency.

RANDY JACKSON'S AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW PREMIERES -- FR3SH WAS FIRST CREW ELIMINATED

Randy Jackson’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” began its fourth season last night – and host Mario Lopez told viewers that” this season’s new crew’s are “more diverse, underground and driven than ever.” One of these crews will be chosen as the new champion and win the $100,000 prize!

Every week one crew will be eliminated, explained Lopez. On this premiere show, the first to be sent home was the NJ crew Fr3sh – who performed admirably, but not well enough to continue on in the competition. As they danced, according to tradition, fans watched their banner fall.

First up was five-member Beat Ya Feet Kings of Southeast D.C. who stepped up with a lively go-go performance to Backyard Band’s “Skillet.” Judge Shane Sparks said, “I loved the footwork – just a little bit sloppy to me. “ Lil Mama agreed with Sparks, but said that the group needed to keep their energy up. JC Chasez said that it is still early, adding, “When go-go kicked, I loved the energy that you guys gave.”

Second was We Are Heroes, an all-girl crew from around the world and Los Angeles, that performed to Justice’s “Waters of Nazareth.” Lil Mama said, “It was a little slow getting into the performance, but you are super flexible. I love women who come to the show and give strength.” Chasez said, “Popping was great.” And Sparks, “I don’t think you started slow at all. You were teasing about what you will show in the future. I one-hundred percent loved it.”

AfroBorike, a boy and girl crew representing Cuba and Puerto Rico, showed their quick salsa moves to Marc Anthony’s “Aguanlie.” Chasez opined, “So much strength to this group. It’s great, and it’s very sexy to see. I had a lot of fun watching you.” Sparks, though, said they need to “pick up (their) choreography. And Lil Mama, saw “some ethnic with hip-hop and a perfect balance of masculine with feminine.”

From the first three crews, advancing were We Are Heroes and AfroBorike. In danger were Beat Ya Feet who went into the sudden death face-offs.

Massive Monkeys are Seattle breakdancers who performed to N.E.R.D.’s “Kill Joy.” Sparks remarked, “From beginning to end, that’s what I am talking about. You came out with fire.” Chasez, “I love the fact that you have community support. Hey, man, it’s a competition.” Lil Mama said the group “set the tone for the rest of the show.”

Classically trained Artistry in Motion, another all-girl crew, made their moves to Bassment Jaxx’s “SFM.” Lil Mama said, “You guys are incredible – definitely giving inspiration to girls out there right now. You had the tightest choreography on the show so far.” Sparks agreed, “That was a flawless routine.” And Chasez added, “I thought you had a mostly clean routine, but the line at the end did get a little flustered.”

And the final crew in the second set was country crew Southern Movement from Nashville -- who stepped up with a cowboy effect to Dierks Bentley’s “Sideways.” Chasez said, “You were really animated.” Lil Mama said, “I love the energy.” And Sparks wrapped up the critique with, “I was really going to laugh, but you can dance your butts off. You were ripping the stage tonight. And I like the fact that you are learning and bringing new stuff to the show.”

Sent to safety by the judges from the first set were Massive Monkeys and Artistry In Motion – and placed in danger was Southern Movement.

First in the final set was the seven-member Rhythm City crew from the Bronx who performed their hip-hop to Mim’s “Life of a Star.” Sparks spoke, “From the choreography you killed it. It’s crazy because you nailed everything. So much energy--the Bronx is in the building again.” Lil Mama said, “I definitely agree. The way you brought it was crazy.” And Chasez hailed the crew, saying, “That was probably the cleanest performance we have seen tonight. It was in the details. You are my favorites so far.”

Next was a group of friends from the New Jersey, Fr3sh performjed to MOP’s “Ante Up.” Chasez said, “Dirty Jersey is in the house you all. I thought it was a lot of fun. There was a part in the routine that got tough and you were all smiling.” Sparks added, “I liked your energy. You were using the body. I love that.” And Lil Mama, “I loved the choice of music. You are incredible. It was good.”

And finally Vogue Evolution from New York City moved to Chelly’s “Took the Night.” Lil Mama, “You guys are perfect. You are definitely bringing a new element to the show. It’s daring.” Chasez said, “I like the fact that you are battle-tested, have been competing in underground clubs. The drama was wonderful.” Sparks concluded, "I don’t know how I feel because you ripped the stage, but I didn’t know what to expect. It is time for your style to be exposed.”

In the final round, passed along to next week were Rhythm City and Vogue Evolution – with Fr3sh moved in danger of elimination.

The three groups established in the sudden-death face off were Fr3sh, Beat Ya Feet Kings and Southern Movement. Each of these crews “tore it up” for 30 seconds to the same song -- and “Fr3sh” was named by the judges to head home in what was the first elimination of the season.

RANDY JACKSON'S AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW RETURNS ON AUGUST 9

Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew program will be returning for a fourth season to MTV at 9 p.m. today.

Mario Lopez will again host the show in which nine of the nation's most talented dance teams are expected to take center stage -- and perform their best to impress America and show judges.

Also returning to the judges panel -- performers J. C. Chasez and Lil Mama, along with noted choreographer Shane Sparks. On Twitter, Sparks wrote, "America's Best Dance Crew ... We back baby!!!!!" And Chasez posted, "ABDC premieres tonight at 9pmon MTV ... Let's make ABDC a trending topic on Twitter. What do you think? Add #abdc to your tweets!"

In a format usual to talent competitions, America votes for their favorites -- and then the two teams with the fewest number of votes will compete to see which team survives for another week and which will be going home.

In the season finale, one team will be left standing -- "America's Best Dance Crew!"

IDOL EXECS MAY BE WILLING TO LET PAULA LEAVE, BUT PLENTY OF OTHER NETWORK EXECS WANT HER

Who will win the competition to have Paula Abdul headlining their show? "So You Think You Can Dance" wants her, possibly as guest judge and choreographer. "Dancing With the Stars" apparently wants her too!

Ryan, Simon and Randy all say they love Paula -- that they are stunned that Paula is leaving and wish that she would be back on the show. Fans love Paula. And reports are surfacing that plenty of network execs, other than from Idol, think that Paula is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

"Now that Abdul is a free agent, she's already a hot commodity to networks looking to chip away at AI's ratings during this rare moment of weakness," read an article in Rolling Stone.

Back when Kara DioGuardi joined the American Idol judging panel, some fans raised eyebrows, and wondered if Fox was auditioning her -- to replace Paula. But in recent days both DioGuardi and Fox have said that was never the case -- that replacing Paula was never on the minds of Fox execs.

Still, in affairs of the heart, often the truth is shrouded in tales of "we still care about each other" and "we will always be friends." Fox's announcement of Paula's departure held that familiar tone. And of course, with break-ups, words get spoken and feelings get hurt. And generally those promises of "we will still be friends" lasts not much longer than it takes to speak those words.

Opinions seem overwhelming that Fox is making a mistake! Folks ask how could Fox let their arguably third biggest draw of their number one reality show simply walk away without really trying to keep her? Fans opine that Idol execs didn't mind coughing up big bucks for host Seacrest -- and will likely do the same for Simon when his new contract is finalized. But why not pay Paula? Is Fox like the fox in the hen house -- caught red handed for stealing Paula all of these years, now sheepishly hiding behind its insinuations that Paula is actually considerably less valuable to Idol than Ryan and Simon?!

Judging by the $3 million to $4 million dollar figures being tossed about as possibly Paula's most recent salary -- most Idol fans think that Paula has been Fox's biggest bargain of all!

Idol contestants love Paula and do not understand why she will not be back. They viewed her as "motherly" -- like the kindly mother hen with a watchful eye to make certain that they were doing well and treated right. They say she cared -- was the judge with a tender heart.

If anything, they say that Paula helped Fox! She made Fox look good -- giving Idol an appearance of feeling concern for its young contestants. And they say she helped Simon. Her tenderness countered Simon's sometimes harsh critiques, allowing him the luxury of speaking the harsher words without giving fans the feeling that the contestants were being picked on.

But no matter -- because it looks like there are plenty of suitors for the lady who has captured America's heart. Producer/judge Nigel Lythgoe has wanted Paula for "So You Think You Can Dance" from the get go -- saying that Fox was crazy to let her go and that he would be happy to welcome her as a guest judge/choreographer on his show.

ABC's entertainment president Steve McPherson said that he would love to see Paula as a judge on "Dancing With the Stars!" In fact, he said that he would love her either as a "participant or a contestant."

So why is Fox letting their gem walk away? Are they trying to save face after paying her a bargain salary for years? Or is Fox simply like the boy that has fallen out of love with the girl -- jilting Paula and trying to quickly move on to a new love?

Whatever the reasons, it seems that Fox's lovey-dovey feelings for Paula are not there -- and Fox is acting the boy that dumps the girl and can't wait to get out of town.

But if Paula does not suit Fox executive's fancy -- there are suitors who appreciate her sweetness and her cute, spunky and sparkling personality. Simply, where Fox may have fallen out of love -- there are plenty of others who feel differently!!

Perhaps, in the end, the best advice for Paula -- go with someone who loves you!!!!

KRIS ALLEN, DAVID COOK AND ADAM LAMBERT 'ROCK IT OUT OF THE PARK" IN GOOD MORNING AMERICA SERIES CONCERT!

America has to hand it to Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson! The three American Idol judges knew what they were doing when they headed Kris Allen, David Cook and Adam Lambert off to Hollywood and hailed their performances in the heated vocal competition!

Today Allen wears the crown of 2009 American Idol. David Cook's crown is for 2008. And Adam Lambert, while carrying the 2009 first runner-up tag, is every bit as talented as the winner's and considered on an even footing with them with most fans.

Recently the three Idol representatives put on what has to be called a "rockin' great show" in the Good Morning America series in Central Park. The trio simply "rocked it out of the park".

Allen wowed the crowd with a "never been better" "Heartless" by Kayne West -- a number from the American Idol tour set list and a particular favorite with fans.

David Cook performed his hit, "Come Back to Me."

And equally as popular as Idol winners, Lambert covered Muse's "Starlight."

An unexpected highlight of the show occurred when Cook brought this year's Idol duo onto the stage to assist with a completely amazing rendition of Fleetwood Mac's "Little Lies." The three Idol alumni traded verses -- screamed in delight! It was American Idol great all over again -- at its very best!

Over and over it seems that Simon, Paula and Randy applauded real winners. And the real winners in the Central Park concert were the happy and screaming fans!

IDOL AUDITIONS UNDERWAY WITH RANDY, KARA AND VICTORIA BECKHAM

American Idol auditions are underway with Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) sitting in Paula's stead.

The judging panel was interviewed by host Ryan Seacrest on his radio broadcast -- and while all admitted that it was difficult, they say they plan to "make it work" and are excited looking ahead to the coming season.

Randy Jackson explained, "But look, I mean, you know, hey, we gotta try and make it work, man."

Last season's newcomer judge Kara DioGuardi said that she hopes that Paula will reconsider. (But Fox executives have strongly indicated that contract negotiations are concluded and that they will search for Paula's replacement with the expectation of having someone in place by the time Idol is back on the air in January.)

And Beckham, taking Paula's place, said that she is "going to try hard to pout and not shatter the illusion that I'm a moody cow. I don't know if I can, I'm just so happy." And she added, "I want to be nice to people. I know what it feels like to stand there and be judged and how it can feel when nerves really get the better of you."

As for working with judge Simon Cowell, she ccommented, "I'm looking forward to a bit of banter. I hope he does givve me a hard time. I love that, I feed off of that. I think he's great."

FOX SAYS THAT PAULA WILL BE REPLACED BEFORE IDOL AIRS IN JANUARY

The drama that has shaken the American Idol world is over -- as Fox announced that judge Paula Abdul will be replaced before the talent competition is back on the air in January.

In addition, Fox is lining up guest judges to fill Abdul's now empty chair -- including already signed singers Katy Perry and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice).

So it appears that Fox is wasting no time in saying good-bye to Paula and moving on.

Fox Entertainment told reporters at a Television Critics Association press conference that Abdul almost certainly will not be coming back to American Idol, according to sources attending that meeting.

"We were hoping Paula came back," Rice said according to MTV. "We love Paula. She's been clearly wonderful on the show for eight years and was an important part of the 'Idol' family. There's going to be a change. It wasn't a decision we made. But now that the decision has been made, we have to look at it in a positive way. We have to look at it as an opportunity for the show to bring a different energy to it and an energy that can be entertaining for the public."

Rice also claimed that Fox made a "very fair" offer to Abdul that included a raise, but that she decided to instead not return to the show. MTV said that according to reports, the offer was "a multiyear, eight-figure deal that would have been a 30 percent race from her last contract." Other sources have estimated her most recent salary as in the $3 to $4 million range.

It also appears that Fox intends to continue with a four-judge panel for Idol.

"I think that the four judges were getting in the rhythm last year," said Rice according to dailynews. "We'll probably have four judges again."

In the meantime, there certainly seem to be some folks shaking their heads and wondering about the wisdom of some of Fox's ideas. Among them might be former American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe.

Currently producer/judge of the successful dance competition show So You Think You Can Dance, Lythgoe opined first that Fox would be crazy to let Paula go. Then he disagreed that four judges are a good idea. Additionally, Lythgoe was critical of Fox's handling of contract negotiations with Idol judges, saying that all such information should have remained private.

But it seems that Lythgoe might feel that Fox's biggest mistake of all is simply letting Paula go. Within hours of Abdul's Twitter message to fans that she would be leaving the show, Lythgoe and Abdul scheduled a meeting to discuss the possibility of her joining the SYTYCD family.

Rice added, "I have no expectation that Paula's going to (return to negotiations). And in terms of the negotiations themselves, the negotiations have concluded."

As for a new judge for Idol, Rice said, "What we need to find is someone who has great chemistry. It's really a casting job. ... There are multiple right answers and there are multiple wrong answers. Our job in the next four or five months is to really consider what makes this the most fun and the most entertaining."

Abdul continues to place messages to her fans on Twitter, but the most recent postings have neither mentioned Fox nor any possibility of returning to negotiations with Idol executives.

FORMER AMERICAN IDOL CONTESTANT TEAMS WITH RANDY JACKSON ON ALBUM AND MICHAEL JOHNS ON TOUR

American Idol judge Randy Jackson must have seen a little bit of magic in one former American Idol contestant – blond, former nanny, Brooke White.

Jackson, who has never before been involved with an album by an Idol alum, is executive producer of “High Hopes & Heartbreak”, White’s sophomore album due for release on June Baby Records on June 21. Jackson, White and White’s manager, Carl Stubner formed that label, and Jackson is taking an even higher step with White in co-managing her career. White’s initial album, “Songs From the Attic” was released before her stint on American Idol.

As for the Jackson and White pairing, the demure White told The Salt Lake Tribune, “It is completely bizarre. I never saw this coming. I have no idea why he’s working with me.”

But Jackson was quick to explain. “What I loved about her was that she was a straight-up real artist, he said. “There’s always room for artists. You have pop stars, and then you have artists. The holy grail are artists. The sprinters are pop stars.”

White, who will also be teaming with Michael Johns for a West Coast Midwest tour beginning on August 16th in Pomona, CA, said that after her elimination from Idol, she was in a Los Angeles guitar store when Randy Jackson walked in. They began talking, she said, and before they even realize it, an hour and a half had gone by.

“He was so personable,” White later recalled. “He said, ‘If there’s anything I can do to help out, let me know.’” But White, 26, admitted that she thought that the offer was a kindness, but never expected anything would come of it. But lo and behold, a few months later, out of the blue, Jackson called her and asked if she would be interested in making a record with him as executive producer. And she said that she jumped at the chance.

Jackson then became her “sounding board” – helped her locate a writing partner and encouraged her to stay focused on writing the kind of music that she truly wanted to record.

“She’s not going to be Lady Gaga,” admitted Jackson. “You’re not looking at fitting her into a box.”

So White settled down to compose music straight from her heart -- music with what some people have referred to as a Carole King and Carly Simon kind of sound.

In addressing White’s new album, NY Post opined, she has “a full-fledged audio arsenal backing her up, headed by the one and only Randy Jackson. … Her new CD brings reasons-a-plenty as to why… you should give her at least a 10-minute listen. Brook’s country drenched cover of Kings of Leon’s ‘Use Somebody’ takes what that band already developed and paints it with a feeling of young love. Also, her mid-America themed video for the album’s first single, ‘Radio Radio’, embodies the tingly emotion that makes you feel like a 12-year old kid again.”

On White’s Facebook page, fans reveal not only how much they enjoy her new single, but how much the lyrics touch their hearts. One fan wrote, “I love love love Radio. … When I was younger, radio was such a big part of my life. My 3 sisters and I would listen and dance all day long. We would try (unsuccessfully) to win contests, dialing, dialing, dialing. On warm afternoons, I would go to my friend’s house and we would sing along to the Carpenters. … I still listen to the radio and remember.”

“’Hopes’” is already doing well on iTues,” White smiled and revealed. “It was such a personal process making this record. It’s like putting your babies out there.” The album, she explained, is “a bit of a throwback.” She described it as a singer/songwriter album with an organic tone – some a little California country – and there’s even a disco tune.

One song, “Out of the Ashes,” she said was particularly meaningful. But she added that “Sometimes Love” is another of her favorites. “It’s hard to choose. I go through different phases where I reconnect with each of them in different ways.”

Another of White’s Facebook connections wrote of her favorite, “I really love ‘Phoenix.’ I think the line, ‘Now I’m getting older still my memory holds on to you’ is something everyone can relate to, regardless of what memory it is that the person is holding on to. … It reminds me of the memories I shared with some of my favorite people when I was a kid, and even as I grow older I still remember them as if it were just yesterday.”

In reading the emotions pouring from fans on Facebook, the reader gets the sense of turning pages of secret diaries – reading of love, happiness and sadness so personal and meaningful to their lives that it delves to the depth of their souls. And it is White’s music that reunites these fans with the most poignant times of their lives. Whether happiness or sadness, they live their emotions once again.

Brooke said that while the American Idol experience was one of the most monumental of her life, it was when the Idol tour ended that she began to really pressure herself to make a second album. “I was really motivated by myself,” she explained. “The first thing, I got back to songwriting. After the show and the tour, you’re kind of depleted. But you’re also so full with so many things to write about. (The album) was pretty much finished by the end of April. It went really fast, but it was really rewarding and super fun.”

But she admits that it was a stroke of luck that she met Jackson in that guitar store – setting her career back into full emotion.

Recalling her American Idol days, White expressed that she has had a lot of luck, that “American Idol is a household name. I’m really glad to be associated with it. Of course, I want to expand on that. At the end of the day, that’s the opportunity that launched my career. But it’s not solely who I am as a person and an artist.”

And the most recent American Idol Top Ten are all rooting for White.

Idol finalist Adam Lambert, a White fan, said that he appreciates the pure and simple quality of her music. “She’s a singer-songwriter in the vein of Carole King,” he said. And eighth place finisher Scott MacIntyre, a singer-pianist himself, explained that what he likes is her distinctive style of singing and playing. When White premiered one of a song from her album, “”Hold Up My Heart” on American Idol, MacIntyre felt that she really “re-established herself, and the reception was great.”

White admits that having a new album gives her “a billion butterfilies.” But she also feels that “there’s a great deal of excitement, along with (the) nervousness.”

With Jackson’s guiding hand, it is unlikely that anyone will be surprised to see White emerging as one of the most exciting and successful of American Idol alum!
